These are my g g g grandfather's pension papers. They also list many other names of witnesses and court appointed people.

On the 10th day of April,1888, personally appeared before me Clerk of the Court, a court of record within and for the county and State aforesaid, Solomon Shook, aged 49 years, a resident of Richland County and State of Illinois,who, being duly sworn according to the law, declares that he is the identical Solomon Shook who was enrolled on the first day of September, 1861, in Company A of the Inifity Regiment of Benton Cadets Mo, Vols, commanded by Capt. Harry Hazleton, and who was honorably discharged at Benton Barracks Mo, on the 8th day of January, 1862, that his personal description is as follows: Age, 49; height, 5 ft. 7 in; complexion, Light; Hair, Brown; Eyes, grey.

On December 30, 1861, he contracted Chronic diarrhea piles-Rheumatism& resulting disease of heart and smothering spells.
