TRIBUTE:  You never think of your grandpa & grandma as people who were once young..They were just grandpa & grandma...As I grow older I can now think of them as a young man and woman getting married, having children, making mistakes, looking forward to the future. But I still like to think of them as I did when I was small.  I was my grandpa's lovebird. I have a picture of him holding me at my dads funeral when I was two. He held me all my life in some fashion or other. He was a Sunday School Sup't. and was I proud..I asked him how do I know when God is talking to me? He said just listen to that little voice inside and you will know. I really didn't know the influence he had, but a past 4th grade teacher told a friend of mine, that what she remembers the most about me was my open and vocal thoughts about God. A classmate of mine asked "how will I be safe ", when we were talking about thunderstorms in class. The teacher said  "I didn't quite know how to answer that and Sue Ann popped up and said," "don't worry, God will take care of it".  Now folks, I was not known as a particularly godly little girl, but I know that grandpa was a wonderful role model to follow and I know where that statement came from. I had forgotten that little episode.  My grandpa was a good and loving man. He took care of all of us, worked hard and losing him left a big void in my life. But I know someday I will be with him and grandma hopefully listening to the radio, making popcorn  and singing "In the Garden".
