Doctors W. A. Fries, of St. Louis, G. Fuchs of New Memphis, and C. Rembe of this city held an autopsy over the remains of the late Henry Mager on Monday morning, with a view of ascertaining the cause or nature of the disease from which the deceased has for many years suffered

Miss Emma Fullmer, of New Athens, and Miss Olive Roach, of Belleville, attended the entertainment of the Mascoutah Musical Union on Monday evening

Mr. Otto Selbert left Monday morning for Ivesdale, Champaign county, Ill., where he was married yesterday to Miss Emma Heberer, of that place.  They will reside near Ivesdale on a farm

Under the head of announcements will be found the name of Alderman Henry Bruegel.  He is a candidate for Mayor at the ensuing city election

The late Mrs. George Bernius held a life insurance policy in the Metropolitan of New York for the amount of $110, which was paid by the Company's representative yesterday

Mrs. Charles H. Telchmann, of New Baden, has purchased the Eagle Hotel building from Mr. J. P. Friess, paying there for $2850. Mr. Teichmann will take charge of the place of the First of May

Mr. August Kissel of this city, Mr. Henry Voskamp, of Fayetteville, and Mr. C. Lautenschlaeger, of Engelmann township, have been selected to serve on the grand jury for the May term of the St. Clair County Circuit Court

Mr. George Ziph, son of Mr. Henry Ziph of St. Joseph, MO, was married to Miss Annie Torloting, step daughter of Mr. Louis Seyfried of Engelmann township, on Wednesday, April 8th.  The ceremony took place in the Assumption church in St. Louis

Mr. Fred Graul, Sr., is down the the measles
